Dearest Fellow Travelers,

It's been too long, we know. Hopefully this detailed update will tide you over. Where to begin?

The Autumns new full-length, Fake Noise From a Box of Toys, will be released on October 8 in the UK (Bella Union) and the following day in the US (Bella Union / World's Fair). We are thrilled to be working with both labels. World's Fair is an exciting new addition to the Autumns family. Its roster includes Flaming Lips, Aesop Rock, Jarvis Cocker and other luminaries.

The first single, Boys, will be released on 7" on September 24 (UK only). In July, director/photographer/legend Piper Ferguson (Ash, Alkaline Trio, Beck, Interpol) will direct the video for Boys. Should be good. News on touring to follow as soon as we have it.

In the meantime, the new track "Clem" is now posted on the Autumns' Myspace page (myspace.com/theautumns) and for a short period of time you can download it completely free of charge just by visiting www.theautumns.com and signing up to our mailing list.

The track listing for the new album is as follows: Turning Strangers into Friends and Friends into Customers, Boys, Clem, The Midnight Knock, Killer in Drag, Night Music, Only Young, Glass Jaw, Uncle Slim, The Beautiful Boot, Adelaide and Oh My Heart

The Autumns hit the road in the UK this November.

On to related topics. Mr. Elkins' photography is generating the proverbial buzz. No surprise there. A few of the more choice selections will be on display Saturday, July 28.

Here are the details:
SATURDAY, JULY 28th, 2007: 7pm - 2am: $15 Admission
Gallery Preview from 4-7pm: $5 suggested donation
1535 Ivar Ave., Hollywood, CA

For more info, visit createfixate, scroll down and click on Steve Elkins. The interested buyer may purchase Mr. Elkins' photographs at this event. To see more of his work, both photographic and literary, visit smugmug.

Speaking of the literary, both Mr. Elkins and Mr. Kelly have contributed short stories to the Warner Books volume Revolution on Canvas 2, which can be purchased at amazon.

For those of a more obscurantist literary disposition, keep an eye out for the journal of the prestigious Institut des Belles Lettres Arabes (La Revue IBLA) in 2008. It will feature an essay on Ottoman historiography by Mr. Kelly entitled The Fall of Decline. For more info, visit iblatunis.

The new Sound of Animals Fighting DVD (We Must Become the Change We Want to See) is now available. It features live footage of Mr. Kelly (as well as his wife, dancer Tammie Johnston) from the sold-out House of Blues (Anaheim) concert last summer. Also now available is the re-issue of the TSOAF classic Tiger and the Duke, which features remixes of My Horse Must Lose (Portugal the Man) and The Heretic (Evol Intent). The DVD and CD are available here at equalvision.

Lastly, Mr. Kelly and select members of TSOAF are in the mixing stage of Pyramids, a new and genre-defining album. It will be released late Fall. We'll keep you posted.

"The Autumns go for broke into unrelenting, almost operatic emotional territory. And who knows what Matthew Kelly is singing, but it’s gorgeous. Lest he get too pretty, his
