While running at proper album length by many standards, "Winter in a Silver Box" claims EP status, aiming only to bridge 1997's "The Angel Pool" and a forthcoming LP with 38 minutes of glorious noise. Each of four untitled tracks blends into the next, suggesting the entire program is best heard in one sitting. The icy, instrumental second track reaches twenty minutes alone. Imagine guitars and echo units replacing electronics and keyboards.
